The label Type has become a household name for experimental contemporary music, with names like Rene Hell, Ezekiel Honig, and Vatican Shadow contributing to their output amongst others. Although the moniker Belarisk might not be immediately familiar to many, Lee Tindall has collaborated with Bee Mask, Bill Kouligas and Oneohtrix Pointer Never in the past few years and is no stranger to the game of tugging at emotions through processed sound. Vast soundscapes and synthesised blips fight against harsh electrical currents, though perhaps the album standout is ‘The Knot That Tied Itself’, lending itself more to the 80’s Japanese minimalist sound of Satoshi Ashikawa than to modern contemporaries on Type.
