LuckyMe and Eclair Fifi kick off a reissue series of B sides of '80s house and Italo disco records, complete with new DJ remixes. First up is the classic Chicago house song ‘Never Let Go’. Written by pioneering Chicago radio DJ Mickey Oliver in 1987 and featuring Inner City vocalist Shanna Jae aka Paris Grey, the weightless, soulful drumapella is presented as the original master. Australian producer Air Max 97 respects the song's airy nature, but introduces an unobtrusive bass synth and works with strong reverb effects on Shanna Jae's vocals – in their chopped up state they aid his version to a more instrumental feel. Norwegian house spark Aden dresses up the original in deep house fashion, while France's Strip Steve opts for an engagingly percussion-focused edit.
