Birmingham based sound artist Chris Herbert makes his long awaited return on Room40. Constants was recorded in restless bursts between 2007 and 2013, only finally compiled together earlier this year. Herbert interweaves samples from his numerous field recordings of domestic environments together with range of instrumentation produced using short-wave radio, degraded cassettes and processed guitar and cymbals. His compositions are equally varied transitioning from lush synth soundscapes into glitchy ominous electronics.
