Ever the future facing one, Monsieur Edgar comes through with four dreamy, funk-inflected, bassy cuts on his Ultramajic label. Rochelle Jordan provides vocals for the title track. It’s a bouncy affair, with sensual breakdowns, frenetic claps, full kicks and delicately hung synth lines. ‘4Fourth Dimension’ is literally breathy. It’s a bare bones four-minute workout running on sneaking kicks and atmospheric chords, dotted with breathy vocals and lightly acidic melodies. ‘iphone’ comes in hard! Typical ghetto-house drum workout with added Edgar weirdness. He’s a versatile producer, whose strength is his ability to constantly evolve while retaining a signatory stamp on all his output.
