James Blake’s 1800 Dinosaur outfit is back with its fifth release. Previous collaborator Trim returns with his first 10” on the label, and that distinctive voice and esoteric flow atop some gritty, paranoid and angry sounding instrumentals. All emotions we’ve come to expect with grime, but as you can guess these aren’t your typical 140 beats. The Blake produced ‘RPG’ opens with a growling, electric, quite terrifying synth and a electronic voice informing us at once, ‘N O’ before coming round to ‘R P G’. Airhead’s ‘Man Like Me’ is a straight heater! Trim outlines exactly why there aint ever been a man like him, and frankly we doubt there ever will be.
