Debruit first splashed onto Bleep screens way back in 2009 with his genre-bending, country-hopping mind expanding trips into post-beat scene samplism. He has since traversed continents in a bid to bring outernational flavours to his MPC. Here, he moves to Turkey. Recorded in Istanbul in July 2015 with a number of local musicians, Debruit presents a synthetic and rhythmic journey inside the city's history and future. Your ears await the following… fusion-jazz percussionist Okay Temiz, 70s Turkish-funk star Mustapha Özkent, gypsy master clarinetist Cüneyt Sepetçi, and rising grass roots local musicians such as art-rock singer Gaye Su Akyol, Melike Şahin and Murat Ertel of BaBa ZuLa. Everything that is damn-good about Turkish music –past/present- distilled through this Frenchman’s modern beat-production styles. What is not to love?!
