Staalplaat –thankfully- capitalise on the recent and rightly deserved successes of French Composer Colleen with this reissue of her 2006 entry into the revered Mort Aux Vaches series. Previous CD’s in the series included work from Yellow Swans, Machinefabriek, Muslimgauze, Merzbow . Most of these recordings were broadcast on one Dutch national radio station (Radio 5) in a show called "De Avonden". Here Colleen plays her minimalist cello and music-box tinkering’s (track titles tell you where we at) to profoundly heart-breaking effect. A powerful record.
