Mexican producer and Pachanga Boys man Rebolledo follows up his 2011 debut LP Super Vato with his second LP Mondo Alterado on Hippy Dance. The piece merges his native Latin American flavours with quirky strains of dark disco and electronica, first off with the tension building, primordial epic of ‘Here Comes The Warrior’, which clears the air for the seething synth sweat of ‘Discótico Sinético’, whilst ‘Life Is Hard, Life Is Hard, Life Is Great’ shows off the Mexican’s distinctive vocal over a chucking, rock-steady beat. The brooding synths of ‘A Numb Gas To The Future’ swerves us off into suspense yet again, before ‘Discótico Estático’ drops us right back on the ‘floor with its heavily chugging, rock-tinged strut.
