Tri Angle step out from behind the shadows (as they do on occasion, see Aluna George) with this hyper vivid new Pop-not-Pop sound from Leeds, West Yorkshire band, Adult Jazz. Breaking out with debut album Gist Is (2014) the band have decamped to Carolan’s stable with seven new tracks of broken rhythms, crazed time signatures, falsetto vocals, strings and horns and synth splatter. Like Merriweather period Animal Collective watched under the studio guidance of Bjork and David Byrne (themselves big fans).
