First new Sacred Tapes issue in a while and it's a proper corker! Following a three-month residency at Sacred Tapes base, Islington Mill in Salford, A.R.C. Soundtracks were asked by the Sacred Tapes crew to compile an LP of sorts and the outcome is From a Shattered Beam. Themed around a loose narrative of erosion of human constructions. This is a well placed theme as the sounds on each piece literally feel as if they are falling apart as they are played out, Kevin Drumm style drones and Secret Boyfriend style sketches of whimsical post-punk ambience drift through the duration of the LP, which features some stunning compositions. From a Shattered Beam is an incredibly strong piece of work and features some moments of abstract beauty at its core. Seriously, we urge you to spend some time with this one...
