Ever since exploding out of London’s uber-fertile primordial jazz soup in 2011, Sons Of Kemet have been enacting a leader’s position in the ever-forward march of contemporary jazz by hosting some of themes established players of our day (Shabaka Hutchings, Tom Skinner, Theon Cross, Eddie Hick), as well as reconnecting the genre’s heritage with modern styles, including hip hop and rap. Burn follows the troupe’s seismic album Your Queen Is a Reptile, and shows zero signs of slowing the train down.
