The Strength Music label boss returns with his second album entitled Conjure, and its one of magical versatility. From his more typical rolling groovers right round to bum bumpin’ hip hop. Album opener ‘Lotus’, featuring vocals from Charlotte Carter-Allen is a sombre jazzy track made in memory of Marjory Smarth. ‘Supafly’ is all dubby hip hop flavours, with droning vocal whoops and a mixture of clean and loose percussive hits. The prominently glowing synth lines of ‘Get It til It’s Gone’ embody Qu’s musical wizardry, while the stomping title track that closes of the releases is a thing of anarchic beauty.
