Here are some bands: Zombi, John Carpenter, Maserati, Vangelis, Yes. Here is the new one from Contact. This album falls down, hurtling in a slipstream of sci-fi synth, right in the middle of that glorious lot. A prog-tastic odyssey awaits those canny enough to get soaked up in this. Contact are comprised of prolific UK film composer, Paul Lawler, and veteran multi-instrumentalist, A.E. Paterra (Zombi, Majeure). They play synths ruddy well. They have a smart ear for high-drama cinema, widescreen dreams and alien nightmares. This is 70s gold, reimagined in 2016 by a pair of tech-dudes. Far. Out. Man.
