Grime rooted eski techno mutations from Latvian based producer W3C for Pinch’s Cold Recordings. True to its name, ‘Atmospheric Entry’ really does sound a space shuttle burning up on its way back to earth, with scorched bass, ruptures in the digital fabric, and a bravura false finish. ‘Bile’ is more grounded, stalking industrial corridors with menace and scraping knife percussion. It’s clichéd to talk about club tracks as weapons but the incredible barrage of ‘Prometheus’ feels like being hurled inside a munitions factory – think Her Records on a more aggressive slant. The more overtly grime-influenced ‘Fire, Walk With Me’ closes things out with gut thumping drums and cold synth pulses.
