Three years after her Walk The Distance album on Tapete Records, Berlin musician and Jazzanova associate Clara Hill returns with a new full-length: Pendulous Moon sees her join forces with Philadelphia artist King Britt who in his 30 active years produced the likes of Strictly Rhythm's Josh Wink, Madlib, De La Soul, and himself released techno albums as Nova Dream Sequence (on Munich’s Compost label) and Dynamic (on Carl Craig’s Planet E). Taking cues from his analogue sci-fi fascination which he pursued with his Fhloston Paradigm project on Hyperdub, Britt fuses the rich sound of analogue synths with Clara Hill’s lascivious vocals. Opting for subdued bass-heavy beats, her voice glistens all the more against this deep backdrop, creating a nocturnal feel overall.
