InFine drop this graceful new record from Father and Son (how many of those have there been?) team Pedro Soler and Gaspar Claus. The youngest, Claus, is a cellist and serial collaborator (see hook-ups with Jim O'Rourke, Sufjan Stevens, Rone, Keiji Haino) while father Pedro is a renowned Flamenco guitarist who has been influential in that scene since the post-War period. This record was laid down in Iceland and Spain, with assistance from Valgeir Sigurössen and Matt Elliott (Third Eye Foundation). The results are atmospheric, spellbinding; a masterly collision of guitar and cello, tradition and future.
