Under-the-rader Swiss imprint Lux Rec deliver yet another devious release, this time coming via NY-based analogue synth freak and LCD Soundsystem associate Gavin Russom with Psychic Decolonization. Each of the four cuts laid out nourish Russom’s penchant for murky synth brew, keeping their focus square on the dancefloor throughout in a similar vein to his ’15 outing on L.I.E.S. Dive in for the scowling dystopia of ‘In Wolfskins’ or the gusty, beat-less serrations on ‘Let The Bones Speak’, whilst ‘Blood Codes’ summons a darker, more primordial spirit with its shackling percussion and gurgling undercurrent. Finally, the American signs off with the foreboding yet tender ‘The Shelter Of Palms’ – a gloomy, no-wave inspired piece that wouldn’t sound out of place on an early Tropic Of Cancer release.
