The Strange Days continue, with the arrival of Volume 4 in Italian producer Lory D’s series of 12”s for Numbers. You know the score by now – three cuts of dark, brooding, electro-tinged techno. ‘Bass Bam’ lays scores of minor key synths over ticking drums and lithe acid bass. ‘Game of Three Synth’ is a more uptempo jam with flesh-scorching bass and jacking rhythms. ‘Sq11’ wisely chooses the scenic route, taking its time to build and ensnaring the dancefloor in the process. Lory D’s history with Numbers goes all the way back to their precursor label Wireblock, and Strange Days Vol. 4 is definitely one of his strongest offerings yet.
