Gluvs release their debut 7” on freshly minted label Random Sevens. An alluring mix of electronica, ambient and modern classical, each of these three tracks was incubated in a raw, organic state. No structure, no notes, no recall – just one-take recordings. The vinyl acts as a random snapshot, then – a moment in time captured and preserved like flies in amber, or perhaps more accurately an infinite GIF. The title track shifts like mercury, as piano notes warp in the strong sunlight and strings create the creaking low end. ‘New Year’ is a melodic drone piece that recalls Oneohtrix Point Never, while ‘Poka’ finishes things off with an odd little folk dance.
