Debut album on DFA for New York’s eccentric producer, Gobby. He has previous on outlying fringe-electronic labels such as UNO NYC (plus a few self-released tapes and tracks on 1080p), and has collaborated extensively with Mykki Blanco. No idea (a good thing) where to place this chameleonic record; shape-shifting its way through all manner of styles (trap, R&B, sample-pop, lo-fi electronica, hi-fi dance music), Gobby’s nearest peers are enigmatic characters like James Ferraro and Dean Blunt. Good company.
