Kaytranada might share bills with the EDM elite, but his debut album is a much looser affair than that suggests, drawing on everything from pop and hip-hop to house and disco. What’s more, the talented producer brings a lot out of his impressive roster of guests. The previously released ‘Glowed Up’ is a potent highlight, with Anderson .Paak’s breezy vocal floating over a weighty but playful beat. ‘Got It Good’ is another, with a commanding Craig David performance, while ‘Together’ pits AlunaGeorge against Goldlink over Thundercat-style funk. ‘Weight Off’ veers into shimmering late night jazz, while ‘Track Uno’ crafts gorgeous synth pop out of seesaw keys and super funky bass. A generous, vibrant album that asserts a singular vision.
