Premier Belgian imprint Sub Rosa (curator of some of the most outré early electronics and sound art comps around) step into the murky 4/4 world of Born in Chile,UK raised, Barcelona resident, Cristian Vogel. All tracks here were originally recorded between 1993 and 1998 in Brighton, while Vogel was operating and collaborating with the likes of Radiohead, Maxïmo Park, Chicks on Speed, Thom Yorke, Jamie Lidell, Neil Landstrumm and Dave Tarrida. Vogel released his debut full-length, Beginning To Understand, on Mille Plateaux, and subsequently became the first UK techno artist to be signed to Berlin's Tresor Records. The eleven joints here represent the pinnacle of that period; bruising analogue house/techno mutations that sound so vividly fresh in a post L.I.E.S landscape.
