Gift This Product…

Fundamental Records present a years-in-the-making, lovingly compiled and expertly curated compilation spanning the career to date of Ed DMX aka DMX Krew, a producer whose strand of electro has marked him out as a pioneer of the genre. Containing a wealth of music from records released on labels including Rephlex, Ghostly International, Sonic Groove, Power Vacuum, Super Rhythm Trax and his own Breakin' Records and Fresh Up imprints. 1995-2015 - 20 Years: Classics, Unreleased and Remixes contains a wealth of material that will be sure to plug a lot of holes in the avid collectors' collections while also acting as an open and easily accessible and utterly vital entry into the world of the DMX Krew.

From his Rephlex days where he bridged a techno x hip-hop jack that gave way to early material that includes the urban rooted Street Boys, the glacial synth structures of The Glass Room, and moved him towards his vocal led bounces Tonight, the informative history lesson William The Conqueror and the Drexciya as reimagined in the surroundings of a North London warehouse party When The Going Gets Weird. Moving towards his more recent forays into hardened gabba step of Cerberus, the dubwise boogie of Bad Boy, the original hip-hop drum machine banger DMX Bass (still sounding fresher than most!) and countless more highlights.

Fundamental and Ed DMX also sought contributions from many of DMX's peers with the unspeakably rare and funky remix of You Can't Hide Your Love by Aphex Twin making a much-needed return to vinyl, JTC drops a tab of acid into the blender on Guest House, fellow 808 futurists Aux 88 flip Adrenalin Flow on its head with a fully cascading drum heavy refix. Elsewhere DMX's other krew members Cylob, Jodey Kendrick, Bintus, Lotek Style, Brian Ellis and DJ Di’jital drop in on to give their take on this most elegantly produced sound.

1995 - 2015 is an utterly unmissable compilation and a true testament to the boundary pushing, genre-defying music of Ed Upton. As well as acting as a vital document of electronic music from a true underground pioneer of the electro-techno sound. A must for anyone with even a passing interest in the music of Ed, AFX, Model 500, Warp or the electrotechnoacidfunk continuum of the past 20 years, and for anyone unaware of this producer and his sound, make sure you listen to while sitting down as this twelve record set is utterly flawless. All tracks mastered by Alek Stark for vinyl from the original sources and cut in Neumann VMS70 for the best possible sound. Here's to another 20 years!
