Special LP pressing of an AV installation by esteemed multimedia artist Mark Leckey, responsible for that shiver of sampledelic memory haze, Firorucci Made Me Hardcore (1999 Installation/ 2012 Death of Rave LP). Leckey is in similar territory on Dream English Kid, as he weaves a blinding plunderphonic tapestry of pop-culture samples and concrète abstraction. This is an even more personal trip into the deep memory store than Fiorucci… Leckey goes through the YouTube wormhole and refracts the audiovision from his own life experiences – The Beatles in 1964 right through to Azzido Da Bass’ ‘Doom’s Night’ in 1999 via news reports, ringtones, field sound, live sound, pirate radio; edited beautifully into a mesmeric whole. An incredible record.
