Terror Danjah has recently rebooted his Hardrive label – dormant since 2013 – with three releases in the last two months alone. The latest comes from D.O.K, who makes the jump having previously released on Hyperdub and Butterz. The London producer – part of legendary grime crew Aftershock – has been in the game a long time now, but releases are few and far between, so the Grove EP is welcomed with open arms. Four utterly uncompromising riddims. ‘Grove VIP’ is seriously intense, bass pulses squaring off against frantic synth arpeggios, while ‘Cherry Bomb’ detonates in a blast of strings, choirs and Street Fighter samples.
