Following much hype, Domino’s great synth-pop hopes, Night Moves, finally land their debut LP. Formed in 2009 in the Minneapolis, Night Moves is composed at its core of John Pelant and Micky Alfano, they make a spectral, lo-fidelity haze-pop that references 1970s touchstones (Fleetwood Mac, The Band, Leon Russell) framed by the more contemporary sounds of chillwave/hypnagogic popstrels Memory Tapes, Toro Y Moi, Neon Indian et al. Nine tracks of searching, future folk-rock, psyched-out pop and avant-Flaming Lips freakouts.
