The much talked about 2016 Mr Fingers release is finally upon us via Heard’s own Alleviated imprint, marking the first batch of fresh material from his adored moniker in over 10 years. Off first, the title cut ‘Outer Acid’ balances a squirming acid motif atop of light, melancholic keys and sparse, panning percussion, followed by a more driving take on the space-age flavour with ‘Qwazars’. Flipside, ‘Nodyahead’ gets down to it with its looped-up, clattering, basement-dwelling bounce kicking the floor into action, whilst ‘Aether’ works the tingles with its gentle, sweeping chords and subtle low-end throb all executed with the highest possible production standard.
