More Sublime Frequencies DYNAMITE with this double LP, 26 tracks from the period 1968-1971, (collected alongside a photos-and-biography booklet) from Adnan Othman, pioneer of tripped-out Malay-language psych-pop. Not a music one hears all that often, but deserves its moment in the baked sun. soulful, electrifying, and beautiful, Othman He made his first recordings in Singapore in the early 1960s, when he was invited to record with a highly popular backing band, The Rhythm Boys. He produced innovative material well into the 1970s, but always stayed true to his Rock-and-Roll roots, even when many other artists were turning towards more predictable disco influences. This is the raw fire, landing on handsome double LP, naturally.
