Jazz routed sketches from Anenon, a compelling and thoughtfully mapped out homage to the freeways of L.A. Composed with friends Yvette Holzwarth on violin, Max Kaplan on clarinet and Jon-Kyle Mohr on drums, Petrol is a woeful gaze to the endless freeways of Anenon's hometown. Book-ended with field recordings of the passing traffic and sandwiched in the middle a selection of freeform jazz and wistful fatigue recollections that spin by as fast and busy as the city streets it pays tribute too. Petrol is the sound of the edges of a city, busy and bustling but also with a motion and flow that will capture and sweep up all that step in its way.
