Max Richter’s incredible Deutsche Grammaphon album, Sleep (2015) was one the year’s standout modern classical releases – in its concept, its arrangement, its stately elegance. Seizing the flame, DG / Richter ask friends to reversion the source material in their own unique styles. This five track EP features (re)work from Scottish post-rock noise icons, Mogwai, Warp Records’ electronic music pioneer, Clark and from leftfield – U.S.A’s Norm Chambers aka ambient Kosmische don Panabrite (working here under his alias, Jürgen Müller). Set to be a special record extending the (sleep)life of this amazing project yet further.
