Steven Tang makes his long awaited return to Steffi’s Dolly imprint to follow up his 2012 Inflection Point EP debut with the Lone Passenger EP under his hardware-focused Obsolte Music Technology alias. Here, Tang keeps the ‘floor in full focus, leading off with a big, bold rubbery bassline, topped with acidic reiterations, followed by the crisper, Detroit-indebted drumwork of ‘Voltage Player’. Finally, the Hong Kong native unleashes the strongest of the lot in ‘High Stung’ – a relentless all analogue assault steeped in vast melodic strokes.
