A reissue of The Cinematic Orchestra’s stellar 2007 album Ma Fleur, featuring three tracks never before included on wax versions and delivered this time around in clear vinyl format. With their preceding releases specialising in late-night, smoky back-to-mine jazz, Ma Fleur was an ambitious leap into more timeless and cinematic pop realms. Tracks like opener ‘To Build A Home’ and ‘Child Song’ launched them into the stratosphere and cemented their place in the UK musical canon. Albums built like this just don’t really age - it’s a wistful, human take on jazz, folk and soul which is as potent as ever.
