Italian sound artist Nicola Ratti follows up his 2015 Wounded Boys cassette with a more substantial, vinyl offering for go-to imprint Where To Now. Pressure Loss is a piece that deals in dense low-end frequencies and acute, glitch-indebted detailing, cooked up and evolving at an all-encapsulating, meditative pace. The minimalistic aesthetic recalls early SND or Stefan Jos’ criminally overlooked release on Opal Tapes, yet Ratti’s maneuvers are less focused on rhythm and aim to conjure up a vast, boundless abyss.
