Berlin based post-punk dreamers The KVB return to Bristol’s Invada Records (Metropolis Records will handle the release in North and South America) after being invited by label boss Geoff Barrow, also of Beak> and Portishead, to record in his studio. The results are the bands tightest yet. Taking Barrow’s renowned synth lab to task, Nicholas Wood and Kat Day march on from their earlier, cloudier, fuzzier work into something reaching for dark-pop perfection. Echoes and haunts of Roxy Music, My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Joy Division, and the motoric pulse of EBM stalk Of Desire – and this is a very good thing.
