Editions Gravats is the new(ish) imprint curated by Parisian no-fi house deviant, Low Jack (LIES, TTT). Black Zone Myth Chant is an alias of fellow Frenchman High Wolf (an intriguing presence on the psych-noise scene in recent years). His 2011 Straight Cassette flew out amid great critical acclaim, in a haze of chopped DJ Screwisms. 2015 saw the excellent Mane Thecel Phares continue that lineage. And here he is in 2016, back again for a slab of gauzy samplism and refracted psychedelia. This is his most bracingly dancefloor tuned joint yet – a fried collage of pop-edits that you-know-don’t-know, freaked out rhythmscapes, and curious hooks. Incredible new work from a visionary in the quagmire.
