First glimpse into the sonic sound world of electronic post-rock outfit / high-end supergroup Szun Waves (Luke Abbott with members of PVT and Portico) Pulling influence from each of their respective musical corners they have come up with a record that acts as a crystalline lesson in rhythmic psychedelia with a contemporary spin. Echo's of Laurence Pike's psychedelia rooted instrumental rock as part of PVT, Luke Abbott's Border Community strain techno and Jack Wyllie's disciplined synth work as part of Portico are strongly evident within the groove but its safe to say that At Sacred Walls does sounds quite unlike anything each member has produced before.

Born out of a six hour jam in James Holden's Sacred Walls studio, that's been neatly cut down to six tracks, the main focus is on rolling, stoned rhythms akin to a slowed down Can or Sun Araw, heavy on the live instrumentation the sounds meander through clouds of lush free jazz saxophones, deep and evocative electronic sound worlds, and lava lamp like rhythms that you could imagine forming the basis of Julian Cope's dreams. A very good look for the jazzy kosmiche heads!
