Liverpudlian pop-folk prodigy Lapsley draws on her recent dizzying newfound musical success for a debut LP Long Way Home. After being uprooted from her Merseyside home and traveling to London, the US west coast and back again, LapsLey laments over the difficulties caused by long distance relationships and channels them into emotionally inflicted moments of pop sentimentality. Working together with XL in-house producer Rodaidh McDonald, each moment of Long Way Home focuses it’s attention on the young singer’s arresting vocals and lyrics, whilst the production is always interesting yet never overdone, allowing the emotions to run rife.
