A veteran of the experimental electronic music community, Knapp has collaborated with Chris Douglas (Dalglish), Joe Gilmore (3.14.., Plank), Kouhei Matsunaga (NHK’Koyxeи) and Alexander Peverett (Team Doyobi), played at festivals across the planet (including Autechre’s ATP in 2003), and worked alongside Rashad Becker, Pimmon and SND, among others. He also recorded as the Mortal & Chemist duo (including Supermechamaximegamegablast, for the seminal Skam Records label), This startling Ge-stell debut LP of precise sound design, free-time electroacoustic improvisation and granular processing is like some dizzy concoction of all the above.
