One of the key movers and shakers of pre through to post and beyond punk Manchester, Spider King gets the cobwebs brushed off for an LP on Finders Keepers. Spider King has always been on the fringes of Mancunia's vast web of alt-art-rock 'n' roll, having crossed paths with many of the city's key and uncoordinated players from On-U dub travellers The Mothmen, Martin Hannett (with whom Spider played with in his earliest band) the highly mysterious Frank Zappa approved group/band/hallucination Gerry And The Holograms and was even sanctioned cto play in the backing group of the Velvet Underground's wondering Nico when she lived in the city. Shot To Pieces takes in ten tracks from the archives including the much sought after track Animals and many more beside that take punk funk and spin it into a collage of dreary and grey skied psychedelia Manchester style thats sure to fill a gap in many record collections and history books alike. Having remained off the radar of many Manc music musos the world over, Finders Keepers have ensured that he can now take his rightful place as the (Spider) King of Manchester's long lost punk scene.
