Appleblim and October – both of them key figures in the Bristol scene – team up for this dubbed-out house 12” on powerhouse label Tempa. The A-side lays shimmering chords over shuffling drums and an acid bassline, while whirling synths circle in the skies above. Appleblim’s own remix on the flip brings out the minor chords for a darker, more paranoid version. The drum pattern becomes fractured, driving along and then pausing in sudden jolts. The final section is capped by this amazing horn line, buried deep under the churning waves.
