Brooklyn based producer James Hinton aka The Range serves up a second session of sliced beats and esoteric samplism for Domino following his 2013 debut Nonfiction. Here, on Potential, Hinton crafts a record full of vocal features sourced entirely from the Youtube wormhole. The single ‘Florida’ showcases this trick by foregrounding a singer covering Ariana Grande’s ‘You’ll Never Know’ nestled in a bed of post-Four Tet electronic twitch. Elsewhere, he loads up a dizzying of platter of R&B bump and ambient chamber-pop.
