More dub/jazz-inflected soul music from Submotion Orchestra following 2014’s breakthrough release Alium. Though the group are an accomplished live band, Colour Theory sees Submotion Orchestra focus more on detailed, dynamic production, giving a greater sense of space and atmosphere to their recordings. The album draws on hip hop, garage, house, and post-dubstep to achieve its vibe, with collaborations from Andrew Ashong and Royce Wood Jr. giving a greater sense of variety.
