Kirkis is an associate of Melbourne’s Hiatus Kaiyote crew. When asked by the Fresh Selects label to remix a track from their signee Mndsgn, Kirkis turned in a rework that bore almost no resemblance to the original track, save for a tiny piece of percussion. But the label still loved the slice of future-funk and vocal soul that was delivered to them, and decided to release the production on its own as a 7”. To top it off, the b-side features a Ringgo remix of the original quasi-remix.
