Riffing on the Buddha Machine concept, Discrepant takes us on a fascinating trip with this handsome vinyl LP composed of recorded sound from the temples of Tibet and China, frozen in waxen locked grooves for eternity… The haunting sounds were gathered by field recordist Laurent Jeanneau between 2006 and 2011 ranging from ‘poppy modern Chinese Buddhist prayers to ancient recordings of famous Tibetan Buddhist masters.’ Mastered to perfection by Rashad Becker, this ethereal, harmonious music will work either in the act of meditation or as sample-base for the club or the MPC.
