Curious sounds from Liverpool-based artist LING, out on CODES, the sublabel of experimental outlet PAN operated by Visionist. Built from browser recordings and found sounds, the Attachment EP recalls the distorted realities of Oneohtrix Point Never’s Replica, the processed sounds of TCF, and the queasy rhythms of M.E.S.H. There are glimpses of contemporary pop and club sounds – you might recognise a certain click from a rap banger, or a vocal texture from a chart hit – but they’re all reframed in strange and unusual ways. A very promising start from the young artist.
