The 1967 debut album by AMM was a cornerstone of experimental music. Formed in 1965 by three key players of Britain’s emerging avant-garde jazz scene, AMM evolved into a larger free jazz coalition who tested the very limits of what improvisation even meant, using prepared piano and tabletop guitar as well as transistor radio in their often two-hour plus sessions. First released, somewhat impossibly, by Elektra, the new reissue for Black Truffle comes with a remaster from Rashad Becker.
