CPU bring out possibly the most essential 12" yet from Morphology with the space age aqua of Mirror Comparator. Sounding somewhere between Drexciya's spiky interstellar Aquaticism and the lunar escapism of E.R.P. the four tracks here blend the robotic tilts of old school Detroit electro with a modern internet age understanding of club music. Mirror Comparator starts off with an Instra:mental style minimalist drum palette before the acid squelch seeps through the airlock and the track propels itself into a crafty lost-in-space doing-the-damage peak time electro number. Jovian Moons gives the analogue drum machines a run for their money with its TR cowbells raining in before the Drexciyan tribute Molecular Hydrogen sinks in before capping things off with the expansive New Horizons. Killer CPU this one, a cold yet funky EP that stands as a must check for anyone into Der Zyklus, DBX or Dave Monolith.
