Godflesh’s Justin K Broadrick and Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters) draw from their long time friendship and association with a self-titled collaborative LP from each of their respective Jesu and Sun Kil Moon outfits. It’s a piece that marries classic British and American song writing sensibilities, painting from a palette of coarse shoe-gaze guitar fuzz, such as drudged opener ‘Good Morning My Love’ and the similarly fuzzy ‘A Song Of Shadows’, through the more delicate acoustical tradition on ‘Fragile’ and finally intertwining some subtle electronics and dreamy early Warp-esque melodies on ‘Father’s Day’ and ‘America’s Most Wanted’.
