Fascinating trip through time and space with this modernist electronic take on the classic 60s/70s Ethiopiques sound from Addis Ababa’s Endeguena Mulu. Apparently he’s been working on this EP for a decade, “drawing inspiration from the sun, Ethiopian war hymns, and his own dreams for this release”. A sprawling, diverse extra-player that lurches from junglist inflected traditional sounds, rolling Nico Jaar style house music, and Shangaan tempo-craziness.
