Music For A New Society’ is a fully re-worked and revised version of the 1982 classic album, Music For A New Society from the Velvets’ avant-garde Ying to Lou Reed’s Punk Yang, Welshman in New York, one of the Great British heroes… John Cale. In his own words, “I found myself loathing each and every character written about in those original recording sessions of Music For... Unearthing those tapes reopened those wounds. It was time to decimate the despair from 1981 and breathe new energy, re-write the story.” This is a soulful, contemporary meditation on mourning –written soon after Lou Reed’s passing- that bristles and prickles with raw energy.
